Maria Moræus Hanssen is a Norwegian business executive renowned for her leadership in the energy industry. She is widely recognized for her expertise in navigating the complexities of the international oil and gas industry, particularly in the area of upstream exploration and production, and through the energy transition. She has been CEO of the German based oil and gas company DEA, Deputy CEO of Wintershall DEA, and CEO of Engie E&P International. Prior to her international career, she held managerial positions in Aker ASA, Statoil (Equinor) and Norsk Hydro. Currently, Moræus Hansen is the chair person of the board of Å Energi and the board of the National Museum of Art of Norway. She also serves as an independent director on the boards of SLB Limited (Schlumberger), Kosmos Energy Limited, and Scatec ASA. Moræus Hanssen holds a degree in Petroleum Engineering from NTNU in Trondheim, and in Petroleum Economics from IFP School in Paris, France.
