Hugo Briones

Hugo Briones is Chile’s Vice Minister of Energy in the government of President José Antonio Kast. He is an electrical civil engineer from the University of Chile and holds an MBA from the Universitat de Lleida. With more than thirty years of experience in the development, construction and operation of power generation and transmission projects at leading companies such as Colbún, Transelec Sigdo Koppers, Grupo Saesa, Grupo IMELSA, and Mainstream Renewable Power Latam, his solid technical and executive background positions him to contribute to Chile’s long-term energy policy goals, including system reliability and the ongoing energy transition.
