Peter Brun

Peter C. Brun is a recognized Danish business leader and renewable energy expert with over 30 years of experience, particularly from the wind turbine industry. He currently holds the role of Global Director for Offshore Wind at DNV. His professional career has been marked by senior positions in international organizations and a strong focus on global trade policy and green transition. Brun has built strong experience in navigating the regulatory world with strong business understanding.

As head of the global offshore wind segment in DNV, he focuses on driving the green revolution forward through strategic consulting and technical leadership.

Between 2006-2013 he served as Group Senior Vice President in Vestas Wind Systems, where he played a central role in the company's global expansion and regulatory relations. 

Before his time in the wind industry, he worked for the Danish Foreign Service, with postings in, among others, the USA, Germany and the EU in Bruxelles, and served for seven years as an expert in international trade policy. 

Brun is an active voice in the international wind industry and has held several influential positions, including: Vice-President of the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC). Vice-President of WindEurope (formerly the European Wind Energy Association) and Chairman of the Danish Wind Energy Association (now GreenPowerDenmark). He was also active in various national and international industry organizations and think tanks working to promote sustainable energy globally, including the World Economic Forum.

He holds a master’s degree in political science from the University of Copenhagen. A Master of Business Administration from Copenhagen Business School, and various executive management programs from f.x. IMD Business School in Switzerland.
